The Modules menu
When you have logged in, you arrive at the Modules menu, from where you can go off to all parts of the system. Below is a brief explanation of the various options.

Please note that your WebImpetus account arrives ready configured with the essential elements to enable you to start creating and publishing web pages - fast! Click here for more information.

Documents
These contain your web page content - text, images, links to other pages and so on.  More...

Templates
Templates define how your pages look. By using templates it is easy to change the look of your pages, since any change automatically updates all the pages to which it is applied.

Components
Templates can include Components. The same Component can be used across a range of templates - a menu bar, or footer, for instance.

If you use Cascading Style Sheets (which we recommend), JavaScript files, and so on, then they can be stored as Components.

Objects

Objects are best described as components of Documents, again being able to be used across a range of pages. An object can contain a heading, text block and image. An example might be a 'special offer of the month' that you want to appear on a number of pages. Each month you would just change the Object and it would update all the other pages.

Images
WebImpetus has a built-in image library. Again, the same image can be used across a wide range of pages and easily updated. WebImpetus pages can, of course also use images stored anywhere on the web.

Preferences

Here you specify the various individual settings for your account.

Classes
Classes are categories that you define yourself as a way of grouping the various WebImpetus records together. Think of them as folders in a filing cabinet.

Tokens
You use Tokens in your Templates to pull in the various elements of a document (title, subtitle, images, text, objects and so on). They need to be pasted into the HTML code in the appropriate place. Tokens are also used to incorporate Components.

The WebImpetus Tokens library is very powerful, since Tokens can also perform some quite sophisticated functions, as well simple replacement.

Visitor Searches
Every time a search engine directs someone to your site, WebImpetus records here which engine was involved and what search criteria were used.

Lets you log into another WebImpetus account.

Logout
Lets you log out entirely.
